PEL/VIP is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois.
Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 15 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU | Travel | Assignment Overview We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) settings. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years in a high-acuity environment, capable of managing complex cardiac patients. This position involves working in an acute care setting with critical patients, including post-open-heart surgeries and other cardiovascular procedures.
Assignment Details Unit: 20 private beds, monitored Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, or 2:1 based on acuity Shift: 12-hour nights (7p-7a)
Weekend: Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday)
Holiday Requirements: Yes, every other Estimated gross weekly pay package: $3078 (negotiable)
Charting System: EPIC Care Setting: Acute Trauma Level: 1 Responsibilities Provide care for post-open-heart surgery patients and other high-acuity cases Titrate and manage multiple drips including dopamine, dobutamine, and others Manage ventilators and respiratory support equipment Interpret ECG strips and utilize Philips monitoring systems Float to different levels of care as required Qualifications Required: BLS certification (AHA) Two years of CVICU experience Ability to interpret ECG strips Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills Experience in using IABPs, Impellas, Swan Ganz, and ECMO Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment Preferred: ACLS, CCRN certification Experience with post-VAD and transplant patients PEL/VIP Job ID 64989632.
