Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The role involves evaluating health status through ongoing data collection, performing health teaching and counseling, and providing therapy and treatment that supports life and well-being. Additional duties include executing delegated medical functions, referring patients for further evaluation, reviewing therapy plans, and documenting per hospital and regulatory guidelines.

The RN may be required to float to other departments or be on-call during scheduled shifts.
