Start Date: 12/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse in Columbus, OH. We are seeking dedicated RNs for a contract position in our Observation Unit. This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to make a difference in patient care while enjoying the flexibility of travel nursing.

Certifications Required: BCLS Certifications Preferred: ACLS, OCN Skills Required: Telemetry, MS/TELE, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Starting IVs, PICC line management Experience: Minimum 2 years required; first-time travelers are welcome!

Scrubs: Not provided (Color: Navy Blue/White)

Floating Requirements: May occasionally float to assist with inpatient Med/Surg tele patients awaiting transfer to their acute care unit. Orientation to the area will be provided.

Patient Diagnoses Include: Dehydration and electrolyte abnormalities Nausea and Vomiting Chemotherapy/Radiation symptom management Acute Kidney Injury Palliative/Pain Control Urinary Tract Infection Syncope Post-Procedure (IR, GI, Pulm) requiring overnight stay Transition to Hospice PEG tube/Line placement Fever of Unknown Origin Special Procedures/Unit Details: The Observation Unit manages patients with anticipated short lengths of stay up to two midnights, at which point a disposition decision is made. The goal is to provide high-quality, efficient care without discharging or admitting patients prematurely. Patients boarded from the ED and ICC in observation status are stable and unlikely to require an upgrade in care, with a goal for discharge in less than two midnights. Unit providers include APPs and supervising MDs. Staffing ratio is 1:4 with a charge nurse in each assignment. Other available resources include RNs, PCAs, and UCAs.
