Travel RN Job Details Specialty: Oncology/Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Location: Albany, Georgia 31701 Setting: 29-bed combined Oncology and Medical-Surgical inpatient unit Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890 Start Date: June 8, 2026 Assignment Length: 13 weeks, with 8- or 17-week options available Shift Duration: 12-hour nights Shift: 6:45 PM–7:15 AM Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week; orientation hours are not guaranteed, and the first orientation week will be on day shift Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: Work 2 of 3 holidays Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:6 Uniform: Caribbean blue or white Oncology/Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements Minimum 2 years of recent Oncology/Medical-Surgical nursing experience Active Georgia RN license or compact RN license Associate degree in nursing or nursing certificate required; bachelor's degree preferred Chemo certification required AHA BLS certification required AHA NIHSS certification required AHA ACLS certification highly preferred Current experience with Meditech Expanse required; HCA Meditech experience does not meet the requirement At least one completed travel nursing assignment required Demonstrated experience with peripheral IV insertion, sickle cell management, tracheostomy care, and tracheostomy management Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult Oncology and Medical-Surgical patients in an inpatient setting Care for patients receiving active chemotherapy and those with complex medical conditions Support patients experiencing sickle cell crises, including frequent pain assessments and timely interventions Operate PCA pumps and evaluate patient response to pain-management interventions Recognize and escalate barriers to effective pain control and changes in patient condition Perform peripheral IV insertions and provide tracheostomy care and management Administer medications and chemotherapy according to established standards and protocols Complete accurate assessments, documentation, care planning, and patient education using Meditech Expanse Collaborate with providers, nursing assistants, and the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, coordinated care Float as needed to acute-care areas, cardiac care, emergency patient holds, and an additional nearby campus to support patient-care needs Apply now for this Oncology/Medical-Surgical travel nursing opportunity in Albany, Georgia, and join a team delivering high-quality inpatient care.
