Location Baltimore, MD Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position. Schedule/Shift Night shift, 3x12 hours, with every other weekend and holiday required. Job Description The Registered Nurse on the Neuro Med-Surg Tele unit will provide care to patients with various neurological diagnoses, including those requiring telemetry monitoring. The unit is designed for patients with conditions such as CVA, epilepsy, seizures, and post-neurosurgery care, among others. The nurse will utilize advanced equipment such as continuous bedside EEG monitoring and telemetry.

Responsibilities Perform nursing assessments and establish nursing diagnoses. Develop and implement patient care plans. Monitor and document patient progress and responses to therapies.

Utilize advanced nursing procedures as needed, including administering medications and managing complex medical equipment. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care. Float to other Med-Surg and Med-Surg/Telemetry units as required.

Required Experience A minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience. Neurology experience including CVA/acute stroke care and pre/post-neurosurgery.

Experience with spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury care. Feeding-tube care, pre/post-hemodialysis management, and renal failure experience.

Experience with surgical drains, wound care/wound VAC, oxygen administration, and isolation protocols.

Certifications/Licensure Active Maryland or compact RN license required. ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications are required. Basic EKG certification through Prophecy Relias is required before attending orientation.

8 hours of annual stroke continuing education (CE) and 4 hours of annual trauma-related CE are required. TCRN certification is preferred.
