This contract position offers a unique opportunity for experienced nurses to provide specialized care in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking candidates with pediatric cardiac experience, including chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions, with a minimum of 2 years in a related clinical setting.

Responsibilities: Meets expectations of the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addressees increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Job Requirements: Education/Skills: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience: 2 years of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Current BLS certification required (AHA only). Current ACLS certification required (AHA only). Current PALS certification required (AHA only). RN License in the state of TX or compact.

Position Requirements: All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member, and initial onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of the designated organizational entry competency validation and a Critical Care Department-specific competency validation. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements. Two years of experience in a Critical Care setting preferred but will accept new graduates.
