You will support patients with post-surgical needs, sepsis, COPD, CHF, urinary tract infections, and high fall risk while delivering thoughtful, evidence-based nursing care.

Weekend Requirement: Three weekends during each six-week schedule Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday Unit: 41-bed Medical-Surgical unit with typical day-shift ratios of 1:4–5 Floating: First to float within the nurse’s skill set; assignments may include nearby affiliated locations with advance notice when applicable Travel RN Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; current compact license required At least 2 years of strong Medical-Surgical nursing experience At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, with recent acute-care experience preferred Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment Trauma Level II experience Associate degree or nursing certificate Current American Heart Association BLS certification Current NIHSS certification Recent Epic charting experience and the ability to complete an Epic checkoff class Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and adaptability skills Applicants must reside outside the applicable 40-mile local radius Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical patients in a 41-bed unit Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions using Epic electronic health records Care for patients with post-surgical conditions, sepsis, COPD, CHF, urinary tract infections, and elevated fall risk Manage remote telemetry, chest tubes, NG and PEG tubes, straight catheterization and Foley catheters, ostomies, heparin infusions, blood and blood product administration, tracheostomies, and PCA therapy Recognize changes in patient status and escalate concerns promptly using sound clinical judgment Administer medications and treatments safely while following established protocols Collaborate with providers, nursing assistants, patients, and families to coordinate individualized care Float within the nurse’s competency and support team operations as patient-care needs change Participate in precepting students or new team members when assigned Apply now for this Medical-Surgical travel nursing opportunity in Evansville, Indiana, and join a collaborative healthcare team.
