Start Date: 12/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse in Behavioral Health in Montgomery, AL. This contract position offers an opportunity to work with adults aged 19-55, incorporating addiction with mental health diagnoses. The facility features a supportive environment with a patient ratio of 1:6-8 during the day and 1:8-10 at night. We welcome travelers with at least 1 year of experience, and first-time travelers with a minimum of 2 years of experience and Cerner (EMR) knowledge.

Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with mental health and addiction issues. Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage patient behavior effectively. Collaborate with Mental Health Technicians, Unit Clerks, and Charge Nurses to ensure optimal patient care. Administer medications using Omnicell and document patient information in Cerner EMR.

Required Certifications: BLS CPI/MAB/Secure (required prior to start)

Support on the Unit: MHTs available Unit Clerk on days Charge nurse present Phlebotomy support available Psych NP on days Orientation: New hires or those with >1 year experience: 24 hours in classroom, 36 hours on the unit Rehires pending last date Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Every other or 4 weekend days per month if on a block schedule Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy Travelers are allowed to pick up overtime, and the facility has parking available on the side of the building.
