Job Details: Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years REQUIRED Traveler Experience: Must have previous travel experience Skills: IV start, Vents, Telemetry, CPAP/BiPAP, Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias Certifications: ACLS, BLS PREFERRED Certifications: NIHSS Target Ratios: 1:4-5 (Mixed acuity unit with PCU and MS/Tele patients; may go to 1:6 in extreme situations)

Float Requirement: Required to float to like units Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Patient Population: COPD, pneumonia, respiratory distress, COVID-19, flu, pulmonary embolisms Special Procedures / Unit Details: The acuity is on the higher end of a med-surg unit, operating with a team lead present in a 3:1 ratio, along with 2 respiratory therapists and an assistant nurse manager on shift, including weekends. The unit accommodates 48 beds, with a CNA ratio of 9-10:1. Our patient population primarily consists of COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, and patients with chest tubes, CPAP, and BiPAP. Many patients have comorbidities and require telemetry monitoring. Resources available on the unit include an Admission/Discharge nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager, Vascular Access Team, Rapid Response Team, Code Team, and Behavioral Health Team.

Special Equipment: Chest tubes, Drips: Dopamine, Cardizem, Heparin, vents, trachs, BiPAPs/CPAPs Unit Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR Unit Orientation: 24 hours Scrubs: Not Provided.
