Start Date: 11/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Number of Openings: 2 Join our team as a Rehab Registered Nurse in Charleston, WV, where you will play a vital role in the rehabilitation of patients with various conditions. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with a dedicated care team to provide exceptional patient care.

Unit Description: This unit specializes in rehabilitation for patients with cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputations, spinal cord injuries, deconditioning, and neurological diseases. Each patient is assigned a care team, which includes a physiatrist, nurse practitioner, nurse, and two therapists, who work collaboratively to create individualized care plans. Therapy sessions are conducted for three hours a day, Monday through Friday, with an average length of stay of around two weeks.

Certifications Required: BLS (must be AHA), acute care rehab preferred.

Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in a rehabilitation specialty. Charge experience is preferred, but first-timers are accepted. Must be available to work every other weekend, with no call requirement.

Patient Diagnoses: Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Stroke, Amputation, Neuromuscular Disorders, Severe Deconditioning related to cardiac or respiratory events.

Guaranteed Hours: Options for 36 or 48 hours per week, to be discussed with the manager. The facility is a leading short-term acute care hospital and Level 1 trauma center, recognized as a major teaching hospital and a member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH). With a total of 855 staffed beds, the facility provides a robust environment for professional growth and development.

Submission Requirements: Permanent employees cannot return to the facility as travelers for 2 years after their last day worked.

Flu Shot: Candidates who refuse the flu shot without medical proof will not be considered. The facility requires all personnel to take the flu vaccine unless an allergy is documented.

Covid Vaccine: Not required. All submissions must include a candidate profile, specialty-specific skills checklist, a minimum of two manager/charge references within the past two years, RN license verification, driver's license, and SSN.
