Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/08/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical Floor. The position provides routine and complex nursing care for post-surgical patients, including orthopedic, general surgical, and neurological populations.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication and treatment administration, care coordination, documentation, and patient and family education.

Job Details Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment or a compact state.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and one year of experience in the related nursing specialty.

Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM; 12-hour shifts; full-time schedule of 36 hours per week.

Additional Information: The assignment supports a medical-surgical unit caring primarily for post-surgical, orthopedic, general surgical, and neurological patients. Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5 to 1:6, depending on staffing. Weekend scheduling may be required based on operational needs. No on-call requirement is specified.

Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient responses, documenting care, and providing education to patients, families, and caregivers.
