Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Lubbock, Texas.

Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Registered Nurse (RN), Intermediate Care Unit. This position provides care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a step-down setting, including patients requiring cardiac monitoring, post-cardiac catheterization care, tracheostomy and ventilator management, and vasoactive infusions. The assignment includes day shifts, weekend coverage, and potential rotation between units.

Job Details Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekends are required, including six weekend shifts per schedule period. On-call coverage is not required.

Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) Active compact nursing license in hand at submission Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification Required experience in a Level II trauma environment Experience with a patient ratio of approximately 1:4 Competency in cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, ventilated patient care, tracheostomy management, central and peripheral line care, chest tubes, arterial lines, blood products, insulin protocols, post-cardiac catheterization care, and pre- and post-cardiac surgery care Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience Community hospital experience Experience with charting systems Level I trauma experience Float: Float rotation may be required.

Additional Information: Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Clinical conditions may include atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction, acute respiratory failure, sepsis, pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, congestive heart failure, cerebrovascular accident, transient ischemic attack, gastrointestinal bleeding, and trauma. Unit procedures may include Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), cardiac catheterization, angiograms, sheath and radial compression band management, tracheostomy care with continuous ventilator support, and post-coronary artery bypass graft care. Interdisciplinary support includes intravenous therapy, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response, transportation, interpretation services, and unit secretary support. Twelve hours of orientation are provided. Solid navy blue uniforms or scrub attire are required for licensed nursing personnel.
