Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Madison, Wisconsin.

Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical with Telemetry, Madison, WI. The registered nurse will provide evidence-based care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced neurological specialty setting.

Responsibilities include caring for medical and surgical neurological patients, including post-surgical spine and brain cases, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team.

Job Details Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin or a compact state; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); two years of inpatient acute-care experience within the last three years in the submitted specialty; two years of experience in neurological medical-surgical and telemetry care; required Epic experience; ability to care for a patient ratio of up to four patients.

Preferred Qualifications: Level I trauma experience.

Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with weekend rotation and holidays as needed; four 12-hour shifts may be accepted; 36 hours per week.

Additional Information: The role supports adult and geriatric neurological patients, including those with multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, stroke, epilepsy, spine surgeries, brain tumors, craniotomy cases, spinal fractures, and complex orthopedic injuries.

Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neurological and post-surgical care, tracheostomy management, chest tube care, wound care, intravenous therapy, feeding tube care, oxygen administration, and collaboration with nursing assistants, therapists, advanced practice providers, medical teams, and other interdisciplinary services. A telemetry examination with strict passing criteria is required before the assignment begins.
