Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 9 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary (List Format): - Conducts thorough, systematic, and accurate assessments across the lifespan (Pediatric to Geriatric). - Demonstrates competent clinical skills and provides direct patient care in support of team-based delivery. - Delivers appropriate nursing care for surgical patient populations, using emergency equipment and procedures as needed. - Maintains complete, timely, and accurate documentation per guidelines, including nursing process and patient education. - Exhibits professionalism by adhering to policies/procedures and seeking opportunities for growth. - Ensures patient satisfaction by communicating professionally and maintaining a patient/family-centered approach; maintains HIPAA confidentiality. - Follows National Patient Safety Goals, including proper patient identification and safe transfer techniques. - Provides individualized care based on specific surgical procedures, diagnoses, and anesthesia types. - Assumes responsibility and accountability for directing and prioritizing patient care according to changing needs. - Educates patients and families, assessing understanding of procedures and instructions, and completes pre- and post-operative teaching and documentation. - Supports and evaluates Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) orders to ensure appropriateness and completeness. - Complies with physical requirements as defined by Occupational Safety/OMS. - Works 12-hour shifts (7a - 7p), 36 hours per week. - Required credentials: RN License, ACLS, BLS. - Education: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred). - Department: Morristown Delivery Room (Clinical - Nursing - Travel). - Language: English (speak, read, write).
