Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. This position requires a commitment to providing exceptional care for critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). Monitor and assess patient conditions, ensuring a high standard of care. Perform technical nursing duties, including reading telemetry strips. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including attendings and residents who are present 24/7. Care for a diverse population of patients with various diagnoses such as Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, and Renal Failure. Floating to other Medical/Surgical Units may be required, managing up to 5 patients based on unit needs.

Qualifications Active Massachusetts RN License. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required. A minimum of 2 years of continuous ICU experience, with a focus on adult care.

Competence in telemetry required. Ability to work rotating shifts, including Day, Evening, and Night shifts; floating may be required. Patient Care Environment This is a Level III Trauma Center with a 20-bed MICU.

The RN to patient ratio is typically 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity patients, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other Med/Surg areas.
