This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical oncology unit.

Job Details Unit: Medical Surgical - Oncology Unit Type: Oncology Shift Length: 12 hours Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Shift Timing: 7 PM - 7 AM Weekend Requirement: As needed Floating Requirement: Travelers will be the first to float to medical-surgical units and may be asked to assist at nearby locations.

Responsibilities Provide patient-centered care to oncology patients, including those undergoing bone marrow transplants (BMT) and chemotherapy. Administer medications and monitor patient progress in accordance with care plans. Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records and documentation. Respond appropriately to life-threatening situations and participate in patient educational initiatives.

Qualifications Required Certifications: BLS Certification.

Preferred Experience: Prior experience in chemotherapy and/or bone marrow transplant nursing. At least 1 year of experience in oncology nursing is preferred. For general medical-surgical nurses, a minimum of 2 years of experience is required. First-time travelers are welcome, with a preference for candidates holding oncology and chemotherapy certifications.

Additional Information Nurse-to-patient ratios are approximately 1:3-4. CNA assistance is available with a ratio of 1:8. Designated Charge Nurses are present on each shift to oversee operations without taking patient assignments.
