Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Surgical With Telemetry, Portland, ME The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical With Telemetry Registered Nurse for a 12-hour night shift assignment. The role provides care for patients with medical telemetry, respiratory conditions, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, altered mental status, respiratory failure, and other acute-on-chronic medical conditions.

Job Details Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; completion of mandatory onboarding education; experience with tracheostomy care; ability to read and interpret telemetry strips.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience caring for intermediate care patients, including ventilator experience.

Float: Float rotation may be required.

Additional Information: Weekend scheduling is every other weekend. Holiday coverage may be required. Patient assignments may include medical-surgical and intermediate care patients. Relevant equipment may include ventilators, bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP), continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), nasal cannula, non-rebreather devices, epidural pumps, intravenous pumps, specialty beds, patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pumps, vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) dressings, and tracheostomy equipment. Successful performance requires teamwork, flexibility, effective communication, and patient-centered care.
