Details Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM) Average patient ratio of 1:4-5 Every other weekend required No on-call requirements Float within scope required to meet facility needs Epic EMR used, experience preferred Requirements Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I trauma or travel experience) Level I Trauma Center experience preferred Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, peripheral line care, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team participation Experience with wound care/wound vac preferred Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management Experience with IV insulin protocols and endocrine/metabolic management 1 professional reference required Additional Information Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients including medication administration, wound care, and cardiac monitoring Participate in rapid response and code team activities as needed Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the hospital to be considered Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-781334.
