Orientation: 3-day orientation including EPIC training Floating Requirement: Yes, floating is required Weekend Requirement: 8 weekend shifts Patient Population The unit primarily cares for patients with various cardiac conditions, including but not limited to: Cardiac Arrhythmias Myocardial Infarction (MI) Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS) Uncontrolled Diabetes Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) Heart Failure Post Heart Catheterization Post Permanent Pacemaker (PPM) Post Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD) Required Skills and Certifications Minimum of 2 years nursing experience Experience in Cardiac Telemetry required IV Start and Telemetry skills Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Preferred Experience Step-Down experience is preferred First-time travelers are accepted, with a preference for step-down experience Additional Information Quality nursing skills are essential, as the role demands handling the same patient ratios as the other units. Teamwork, adaptability, and strong communication skills are crucial. All candidates will undergo EKG testing prior to the start of employment for this specialty. Scrubs in navy or white are required.
