Details Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit in a hospital setting 3x12 night shift schedule, 1900-0730 Every other weekend coverage required, subject to change based on need Float to similar units required as needed Patient ratio of 1:6 Uses Omnicell medication system Performs special procedures including post heart cath monitoring and bedside procedures such as dialysis catheter care, thoracentesis, and I&D Requirements Active RN license (TN or Compact) required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line management, and PICC line management Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration), PCA, and interpreting dysrhythmias Skilled in wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and oxygen administration Additional Information Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response May float to other units or campuses as needed to support staffing needs based on demonstrated competencies Orientation occurs every Monday with annual compliance training required Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials First-time travelers will be considered based on experience Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from any facility in the health system to be eligible at full pay rate; those 90-99.9 miles away may be considered at a reduced rate Night shift candidates in this specialty must live at least 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible, with full rate granted at 100 miles and reduced rate between 50-99.9 miles American Traveler Job ID P-779992.
