Job Title Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Location Asheville, NC | Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown Schedule / Job Type Contract | Travel | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | 13-Week Assignment | Every other weekend required Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit with a 4:1 patient ratio (up to 5:1 when stretched) Perform neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace management Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, lumbar drains, and feeding tube placement Administer blood transfusions and oversee tracheostomy care Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed Required Qualifications Active RN license (must meet state requirements for North Carolina) ACLS certification required BLS certification required NIHSS certification required Minimum 2 years of RN experience Neuro and trauma care experience required — candidates without this experience will not be considered Preferred Experience / Skills Strong background in neuro and trauma care within a PCU or stepdown setting Experience with patient lifts, Skylift equipment, and IV pump management Team-oriented, patient-focused approach to care delivery Why Join Us Opportunity to work in a well-staffed, high-acuity progressive care environment with a structured team model including charge nurses, CNAs, and HUC support Gain valuable experience in a specialized neuro and trauma PCU setting in a dynamic healthcare market Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 797866.
