Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Call Requirements: Approximately 10–15 call days per month; every third weekend on call Holiday Coverage: Participation in the holiday call rotation Operating Room RN Job Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Iowa At least 1 year of professional nursing experience Operating room nursing experience required Neurosurgery experience required RN operating room credentials or equivalent specialty verification Ability to work on-site day shifts and participate in the required call schedule Successful completion of applicable competency and credential verification requirements Perioperative Nursing Responsibilities Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care throughout the perioperative experience, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. Support neuro and neurosurgical procedures while maintaining a sterile, organized, and efficient operating room environment. Prepare equipment, supplies, instruments, and the surgical suite according to procedure-specific needs. Monitor patient condition, promote safety, and communicate changes promptly to the surgical team. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team. Accurately document care, participate in surgical counts, and follow established infection prevention and patient safety standards.
