Details Med/Surg unit (4N) within a hospital setting with 32 beds and 50 staff members Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 6 RNs, and 3 PCTs; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 2 PCTs Patient ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights Unit performs surgical procedures including kidney transplants Patient population may include transplant, dialysis, and diabetic patients Uses Welch Allyn vital signs machines, iPhones for communication, and radios with headsets Meditech EMR used on the unit Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Required to work at least every other weekend No on-call requirements Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required ACLS certification preferred Experience with transplant, dialysis, and diabetic patients preferred No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted) One professional reference required Additional Information Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit handling a wide range of surgical cases including kidney transplants Team-oriented environment seeking candidates who are collaborative and take initiative Navy scrub color required Unit recognized as Unit of Distinction in 2021 Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be considered First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-780816.
