Details Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:30-08:00), 36 hours per week 13-week contract assignment MS/Tele-ER Border unit caring for boundary patients between ED, MS/Tele, and IMC units Average daily census ranges from 10 to 40 border patients across 46 rooms Patient ratio of 1:6 Wide variety of patient diagnoses including complex ED admission cases Every other weekend required Holiday coverage required as scheduled Floating required between ED borders, extenders to MS/Tele, and IMC units within specialty and scope No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required Royal blue scrub color required Epic charting system preferred Requirements Active RN license, MD or Compact, required at time of submission BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only) CPI certification required (Calm Every Storm online version only accepted) Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Previous charge nurse experience preferred Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred NIHSS certification preferred Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line care Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, and oxygen administration preferred Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE preferred Additional Information Provide nursing care to a wide range of patients in a high-volume, fast-paced ER border setting Must be comfortable floating within scope with no restrictions, with travelers given priority to float Candidates must reside 50 miles from the hospital to be eligible unless local candidates are specifically accepted First-time travelers are accepted for this position Maximum 7 days of RTO can be requested; more than 4 consecutive days requires an additional week added to the back end of new contracts One major holiday off may be allowed during the winter season Returning travelers must have been away from the health system for at least 6 months after their last assignment Former staff must be separated from the health system for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler Most locations allow one contract and one extension before requiring a 6-month break from the facility or unit Labs must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing, with compliance documents due 5 days prior to start American Traveler Job ID P-780743.
