Job Title Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Cardiac Progressive Care) Location Burlington, NC | Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Weekend rotation required; holidays as needed Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to cardiac progressive care patients with a primary focus on conditions including Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, arrhythmias, pre- and post-cardiac catheterization (with and without intervention), rule-out myocardial infarction, syncope, and pacemaker placement Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips; administer procedural sedation; and monitor patients on external CPAP/BiPAP Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; perform telemetry monitoring on the unit with remote oversight from a Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department Maintain and manage peripheral lines, PICC lines, and chest tubes (Emerson and Pleur-evac); provide tracheostomy management as needed Provide secondary care for respiratory patients including those with COPD, pneumonia, and BiPAP requirements Participate in a 6-week self-assisted scheduling process through Optilink, with assignments distributed based on departmental need, patient work intensity, skill mix, and previous assignments Required Qualifications Active RN license — must be in hand at time of submission BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; Cardiac PCU experience required Comfort with patient ratios of 1:5 (1:4 with drips/BiPAP) EPIC EMR experience required Must pass a compliance EKG exam prior to start (2 attempts allowed) Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; current driver's license required to verify address No open background check cases permitted; third-party education verification required Requested time off must be submitted with the application — no post-submission RTO accepted Preferred Experience / Skills Previous Charge RN experience preferred NIH stroke scale certification preferred Experience with Rapid Response Teams preferred First-time travelers are welcome to apply Why Join Us Work in a 30-bed private-room Cardiac Medical Progressive Care unit supported by Nurse Assistants 24/7 and an RN secretary from 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM Gain experience in a structured, team-oriented environment with access to Rapid Response Teams and centralized cardiac monitoring support Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 798151.
