Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/23/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU Float Scheduling Details Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift Details: 3x12s, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM Charting: Epic experience required Floating: Staffing needs re-evaluated every 4 hours; role may require floating 2-3 times per shift Weekend Requirement: May include every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday within a 13-week contract Qualifications ACLS and BLS certifications required Pending licenses accepted if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state Must possess an active RN or LPN license from Virginia or a compact state Required Clinical Skills Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration Skilled in central line care, tracheostomy management, and non-invasive airway support (nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, and chest tubes) Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, titration of cardiac drips, and responding to emergencies Capable of managing PCA and heparin protocols, administering IV insulin, and handling endocrine/metabolic conditions Background in telemetry and stepdown-level care (PCU/DOU/IMC), including cardiovascular experience in pre/post cardiac catheterization settings Unit Details PCU average nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1 Med-Surg average nurse-to-patient ratio: 6:1 (may flex up to 7:1) Call Off Policy Facility may call off one shift every two weeks Wellspring Nurse Source Job ID 38332237.
