This on-site travel nurse job offers the opportunity to care for adult and geriatric patients in a 30-bed orthopedic surgery unit while building valuable experience in telemetry monitoring, postoperative care, and complex medical-surgical nursing. Travel Nursing Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710–$1,800 Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical Telemetry Healthcare Setting: Adult orthopedic surgery unit Location: Maryville, Tennessee Start Date: November 2, 2026 Assignment Duration: 13 weeks Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts Shift Hours: 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.

Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend, based on unit needs Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients Typical Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 nurse to 6 patients Floating: May be required to comparable units according to demonstrated competencies and staffing needs Med-Surg Telemetry RN Job Requirements Active Tennessee Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligible multistate license At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience At least 1 year of hands-on EPIC electronic medical record experience Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in a hospital setting Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in rotating weekend coverage Annual flu vaccination required Teaching hospital, community hospital, and previous charge nurse experience preferred Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nursing Responsibilities Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical telemetry patients Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and communicate concerns promptly Complete patient assessments, develop and update individualized care plans, administer medications, and evaluate outcomes Care for patients recovering from orthopedic procedures, total joint replacements, and other surgical interventions Perform and manage peripheral IVs, PICC lines, central-line blood draws, ports, feeding tubes, and ostomies Administer blood products and provide care for patients with complex medical and postoperative needs Document accurately in EPIC and use Omnicell medication-dispensing technology Collaborate with physicians, therapy services, respiratory care, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners Float to like units when needed and perform only duties supported by verified competencies Apply now for this medical-surgical telemetry travel nurse opportunity in Maryville, Tennessee, and join a collaborative healthcare team.
