While not part of a regular call rotation, the candidate may be called in during low census periods and must respond within one hour. A basic understanding of emergency protocols, triage, and patient assessment is essential. Off-site orientations include a dysrhythmia test during the first week. The role involves working every other weekend and every other holiday.
