Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Portland, Oregon.

Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/23/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical Floor. This position provides nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical setting. The role includes electronic charting, a 1:4 patient ratio, collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams, and participation in a rotating weekend schedule.

Job Details Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications: At least 1 year of nursing experience. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Compact nursing license in hand at submission. Electronic charting experience.

Experience with medical-surgical nursing, rapid response and code teams, peripheral line care and management, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE), continuous bladder irrigation, port access and management, blood product administration, peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line management, intravenous (IV) therapy, heparin, insulin, patient-controlled analgesia (PCA), surgical drains, chest tubes, bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP), continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), wound care, and wound vacuum therapy.

Float: Float rotation may be required.

Additional Information: Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. The expected patient ratio is 1:4. Care is provided for adult and geriatric patient populations. Interdisciplinary support includes intravenous therapy teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The assignment is scheduled from 11/23/2026 through 02/22/2027. Two professional references covering at least 1 year within the past 3 years are required during the compliance process.
