Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) We are seeking a skilled and dedicated CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our night shift team. This position requires a minimum of two years of pediatric cardiac experience, including the management of chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions.

Summary The CVICU Registered Nurse practices independently in a complex clinical setting, demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. They provide both routine and complex nursing care, developing long-range goals and plans as needed. The RN must manage the dynamic contingencies of clinical nursing effectively and work collaboratively with other care providers.

Responsibilities Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Address a range of psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with the nursing practice level.

Administer medications and treatments following appropriate protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness. Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided thoroughly and accurately. Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources as necessary.

Job Requirements Education/Skills Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Experience Minimum of two years of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications Current BLS certification required (AHA only). Current ACLS certification required (AHA only).

Current PALS certification required (AHA only). RN License in Texas or compact license required. Position Requirements All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.

New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member, with initial onboarding validated through successful completion of designated competencies. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is mandatory. Two years of experience in Critical Care setting is preferred but new graduates will be considered.
