Details Medical Surgical unit with a focus on renal patients Night shift, 3x12 hours (7p-7:30a) Patient ratio of 1:6-7 Every other weekend requirement with holiday rotation No on-call requirements Float to other med/surg units as needed Uses Epic charting system Requirements Active SC or compact RN license required in hand prior to start Current BLS certification (AHA only) Minimum 1 year of experience required Experience with renal failure, CVA, GI, and feeding tube management Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management Experience with oxygen administration and nasal cannula Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE Experience with cardiac monitoring and rapid response/code team protocols Social Security Number required for consideration Additional Information Provide medical-surgical nursing care to a renal patient population Royal blue scrubs required Free parking available at the facility Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed First-time travelers accepted Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the facility for 1 year before returning as a traveler All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility as locals are not accepted Employees and contractors may be required to support emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November) American Traveler Job ID P-781147.
