Details Work in a 24-bed max capacity Medical Surgical unit (Integrated Medicine) focused on at-risk patients Secured unit with whole-unit video monitoring, ligature alarms, anti-barricade doors, and badge-secured entrance Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM) Friday-Sunday block scheduling, with 36 or 48 hours/week options discussed during interview Patient ratio of 1:5 Cerner charting system preferred but not required Mandatory floating required, including coverage as Patient Observer/Sitter within MS/Tele units Rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and work during inclement weather required Must be able to take call and work assigned weekends Requirements Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration (no pending licenses) BLS certification required CPI certification preferred (required for Behavioral Health RNs, can be pending and completed onsite) Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line blood draws, and PICC line management Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, and oxygen administration preferred Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry preferred Skills in wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and colostomy/ileostomy management Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs Additional Information Provide direct patient care in a secure behavioral health-adjacent medical surgical environment Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year, with routine exposure to contagious illnesses 50% holiday coverage required during contract Maximum 10 days RTO permitted, with none allowed during first week due to orientation Local candidates within 51-74 miles may be considered at a local rate; those within 50 miles are not eligible Travelers can work up to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts (9 months) before a mandatory 6-month break is required before returning in an agency capacity Annual and orientation training modules required, averaging 4-6 hours and tracked by onsite manager First-time travelers may be considered for this position American Traveler Job ID P-774352.
