Details Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting Patient population includes medical patients, including renal and diabetic cases Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12, 6:45pm-7:15am Floating required in rotation with staff in accordance with unit floating policies and clinical experience Cerner/Oracle Health charting system preferred but not required Requirements Active compact or VA RN license required in hand Candidates with pending certifications will be considered Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred 2 years of Med/Surg experience required Minimum 1 year experience with medical patient population including renal and diabetic patients Teaching hospital experience preferred Trauma Level II experience preferred BSN not required Skills needed include respiratory care (chest tubes, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management), feeding tube management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and wound care/wound vac (wound care preferred)

Additional Information Provide direct medical-surgical nursing care including respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary/renal, and cardiac monitoring support Biweekly orientation held on Mondays Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff Nicotine free campus Scrubs of any color accepted with professional appearance, child-friendly print tops allowed, scrub or lab coat permitted RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with none preferred during the first weeks of the assignment Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates not accepted American Traveler Job ID P-777345.
