Details Work on a 34-bed Adult Med/Surg Telemetry unit Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 6-7 RNs, 3 CNAs, and 1 HUC Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 5-7 RNs, 2 CNAs, and 1 HUC Patient ratios are 1:4-6 on day shift and 1:5-7 on night shift Uses Cerner EMR Common procedures include IV fluids, tube feeds, PEG feedings, and IV antibiotics 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM Required to work every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per pay period Floating required occasionally to other Med/Surg units and the ED holding pod Requirements Active RN license (NC or Compact) required Current BLS certification required ACLS preferred 2 years of recent RN experience required Telemetry rhythm interpretation skills required Strong critical thinking and time management skills required Ability to assess Med/Surg level patients and escalate changes in acuity to the appropriate team members Good communication skills and punctuality required No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration Additional Information Monitor and assess telemetry patients, alerting the Charge RN, Manager, Rapid Response, or Provider when acuity changes occur Team player mentality expected, including willingness to assist CNAs and fellow nurses Must attend shift huddles at 0650 or 1850 depending on shift Must clock in no earlier than 0638 or 1838 depending on shift, and clock out/in for meal breaks Navy blue scrubs required Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered American Traveler Job ID P-777648.
