Details Work in a 34-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital Patient ratio of 1:4-6 on day shift and 1:5-7 on night shift Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM Required to work every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per pay period Floating required to other Med/Surg units and occasionally to the ED holding pod Uses Cerner EMR Typical procedures include IV fluids, tube feeds, peg feedings, and IV antibiotics Requirements Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand Current certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Certification (NIHSS) ACLS preferred 2 years of RN experience required Telemetry rhythm interpretation skills required Strong critical thinking, time management, and patient assessment skills required for med surg level patients Must be able to recognize and escalate changes in patient acuity to appropriate staff Additional Information Provide telemetry nursing care to adult med/surg patients, monitoring for changes in acuity and escalating care as needed Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, and providers as part of a team-based unit Attend shift huddles at 0650 or 1850 depending on shift Clock in no earlier than 0638 or 1838 depending on shift, and clock out/in for meal breaks Navy blue scrub color required Strong communication skills and punctuality expected Team-oriented personality valued, including willingness to assist CNAs and fellow nurses No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted American Traveler Job ID P-777424.
