Details ICU setting including Medical and Surgical Intensive Care Units 12-hour night shifts (19:00-7:30) on a variable 3x12 schedule Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75 mile radius as needed Epic charting system experience required 1:2 patient-to-nurse ratio Requirements Active CA RN license required at time of submission BSN required AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 2 years of ICU experience with a 1:2 patient ratio Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history Prior travel experience within the last 12 months required Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line and central line management, PICC lines, blood product administration, and TPN/Lipids Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, CVP monitoring, titrating cardiac/vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation preferred Two professional references from most recent employer required at time of consideration Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to medically and surgically complex ICU patients, including those with multisystem organ dysfunction Responsibilities include managing ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients, administering emergency medications, and monitoring for complications such as abdominal compartment syndrome and infection in immunosuppressed patients Charge nurse experience preferred Community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with full details for rehire eligibility review All requested time off must be disclosed and approved at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract and none permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment American Traveler Job ID P-778290.
