The RN must be experienced in all areas of patient care and be willing to float to Medical-Surgical Unit (MSU) as necessary. Key Responsibilities Identify and address patients' and their significant others' needs for education, employing appropriate modalities. Ensure patient safety through preventive measures, including the use of side rails, restraints, and proper equipment operation. Document all aspects of patient care, including status, nursing interventions, and responses during assigned shifts. Accurately maintain documentation related to charges and ensure timely completion of physician orders. Conduct thorough handovers during shift changes, providing detailed reports to incoming staff. Communicate effectively with other departments and report critical lab values to physicians in accordance with established policies. Implement infection control and isolation procedures, adhering to standard precautions and documentation requirements. Maintain and restock emergency carts and general supplies in assigned areas.
