Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Psychiatric Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, evenings Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Behavioral Health RN Facility: Valley Springs Behavioral Hospital Location: Holyoke, MA Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM Schedule: 5 days per week Guaranteed Hours: 32 hours per week Openings: 1 Job Requirements: Active Massachusetts RN license Minimum 1 year of inpatient psychiatric experience BLS certification required HWC certification required ACLS preferred Must be willing to work with both adult and pediatric patients Must be available for the facility's scheduled orientation dates Travelers must live at least 60 miles from the facility Block scheduling is not available Unit Details: Behavioral Health – Inpatient Psychiatric Unit 104 beds across five units Patient population: Adults, pediatrics (ages 5–17), and geriatrics Nurse-to-patient ratio: Approximately 1:8, varying by unit EHR: Cerner Float requirements: Yes, across units Weekends: Every other weekend or as needed On-call requirements: None Scrub color: Blue Common Diagnoses: Schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety.

Orientation Dates: October 26, 2026 November 9 or 16, 2026 December 7, 14, or 28, 2026 Important: Orientation is held biweekly on Mondays or Tuesdays, subject to clearance. Candidates must be available for the scheduled orientation; alternate start dates cannot be accommodated. All required certifications must be obtained before starting.
