Qualifications & Personal Qualities Current licensure in the state of Maine as a Registered Nurse or Compact licensure, in good standing with the Board of Nursing. BSN preferred. BLS certification required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained while in the position.

1 year of current hospital nursing experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to utilize evidence-based practice, accepted protocols, and nursing judgment to uphold professional nursing standards in a clinical environment. Basic understanding of orthopedic procedures, treatments, and equipment utilization.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritize complex patient assignments. Basic knowledge and care strategies for oncology patients. Competency in safe medication administration per established policies, along with effective evaluation and documentation of outcomes.

Engagement in committees and initiatives aimed at achieving organizational goals related to Patient Satisfaction, Quality Care, Cost Reduction, and enhancement of patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities Provide nursing care to patients in a professional, efficient, compassionate, and caring manner. Direct the activities of paraprofessionals in delivering care. Ensure effective communication with patients, their support persons, and members of the healthcare team.

Implement nursing care for assigned patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Comply with hospital policies and procedures, as well as the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Maine. Wellspring Nurse Source Job ID 38655963.
