Job Summary We are seeking a qualified Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care in various settings, specifically in MedSurg, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Units (PCU). The ideal candidate will be adaptable and skilled in managing a diverse patient population.

Job Details Unit Type: Stepdown Shift Length: 12 hours Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Years of Experience Required: 2 Years Certifications Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Basic Life Support (BLS) Role Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients, including geriatric and orthopedic patients. Manage post-procedure patients, including those recovering from cardiac catheterization and CABG. Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans. Administer medications and titrate intravenous (IV) drips as needed. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of patient care. Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to changes in patient status.

Patient Ratios PCU: 1 nurse to 4 patients MedSurg/Telemetry: 1 nurse to 5-6 patients Work Environment The Float Pool encompasses multiple units, including MedSurg, Telemetry, and PCU, across various locations. The role includes working with both inpatient units and emergency department holding areas.

Responsibilities require flexibility to float to different units as needed. Scheduling and Requirements Schedule is 7 PM to 7 AM for night shifts. Every other weekend and holiday rotation is required.

Travelers will be notified of unit assignments approximately two hours prior to the start of their shift. Flexible scheduling is encouraged to accommodate different needs. Orientation includes an 8-hour general hospital orientation followed by 12-hour shifts in both West MedTele and PCU.

Locations This position will serve various units within the region, ensuring comprehensive care across different healthcare environments.

Additional Information Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage various IV drips, including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin.
