Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Neuro ICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/23/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Neuro ICU Scheduling Details Shift Hours: 3x12s, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM Weekend Requirement: May be Every Other Weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block.

Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract.

Call Off Policy: Facility is permitted to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.

First-Time Travelers: Accepted.

Local Candidates: Accepted within the established radius rule.

Pending License: Accepted if candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state. All other submissions must include an active Virginia State or Compact RN license. Required Certifications Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Basic Life Support (BLS) National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Required Clinical Skills Previous Neuro experience required; experience in a large Level 1 or Level 2 facility preferred. Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.

Experience with Rapid Response and Code teams. IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care. Accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, and PICC line management.

Administration of continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade and continuous IV sedation. Management of emergency medications, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. Knowledge in specific neuro management, including CVA/acute stroke management and ICP monitoring.

Experience with external ventricular drains (EVD), hypothermia protocol, lumbar drains, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery management. Respiratory care skills, including management of BiPAP/CPAP, care for ventilated patients, and suctioning.

Unit Details and Floating Patient Ratios: 1:2 Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, Neurosurgery, Neuro-specific diagnoses, Complex spine conditions.

Special Procedures: External ventricular drains (EVDs) and therapeutic thermoregulation.

Floating Requirement: May be required to float within skill set as needed.
