Details Medical Surgical unit with 57 max capacity serving internal medicine patients with a wide range of diagnoses Rooms equipped with video monitoring, sitter rooms, ceiling lifts, and bariatric accommodations Charge nurse and supervisor present on every shift Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30) 36 or 48 hour contracts available Average patient ratios of 1:5 days and 1:6 nights, with occasional increases to 1:6 days and 1:7 nights Mandatory floating to MS and MS/Tele units Cerner charting system preferred Requirements Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration BLS certification required; CPI certification preferred 2 years of RN experience preferred, though 1.5 years will be considered for quality candidates Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access, and PICC line management Experience managing cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmias, and telemetry Experience with respiratory care including ABG interpretation and tracheostomy management Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs Additional Information Provide direct patient care to internal medicine patients with diverse medical diagnoses Must be willing to float to Med/Surg and MS/Tele units as needed, including as a Patient Observer/Sitter when required Work in a healthcare facility operating 24/7, 365 days a year, with routine exposure to patients with contagious illnesses Required to work 50% of holidays falling within the contract, with flexibility on which holidays are worked to meet this requirement Rotating shifts, weekend work, and inclement weather coverage may be required Local candidates accepted, though those residing within 50 miles are not eligible, and those residing 51-74 miles may be offered at a local rate Local candidates will not be eligible for contract extensions beyond the initial assignment First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-768329.
