Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 9 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary (in List Format): - Provides and manages patient care as a professional nurse, utilizing the nursing process. - Promotes evidence-based practice through adherence to nursing protocols and procedures. - Assesses patients’ conditions via interview, observation, and physical assessment. - Develops individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams. - Implements appropriate interventions to achieve desired patient outcomes. - Monitors and documents patient progress, modifying care plans as needed. - Completes all required documentation, including patient charts and incident reports. - Maintains professional accountability and pursues ongoing self-development. - Demonstrates technical proficiency with equipment and resolves technical issues as needed. - Stays current with evidence-based nursing practices and maintains necessary skills. - Supports professional development for self and team members. - Shares clinical knowledge and provides teaching to colleagues and patients as needed. - Applies problem-solving skills to patient handling and safety, including use of lift equipment. - Obtains lab specimens and performs bedside lab testing per protocol. - Coordinates interdisciplinary patient care, collaborating with team and utilizing resources effectively. - Analyzes clinical situations, acts to resolve problems, and seeks assistance when required. - Manages assigned patients, including both non-complex and some complex cases. - Prioritizes tasks based on patient needs, assignment changes, and unexpected events. - Utilizes and delegates tasks to team members appropriately. - Provides clear, goal-focused shift reports and advocates for patients with physicians. - Uses effective communication and teamwork strategies to optimize patient outcomes and unit productivity. - Selects appropriate communication styles and gives/receives constructive feedback. - Assesses and adapts teaching strategies to meet patient and family learning needs.
