Registered Nurse (RN) - Hematology Oncology Position Overview This role is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Hematology Oncology, focusing on the care of adult and geriatric patients with newly diagnosed acute leukemia. The position requires expertise in infection prevention and patient safety protocols.

Shift Information 12-hour shifts, rotating between days and nights 3 shifts per week Weekend scheduling is variable based on unit requirements Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to acute leukemia patients Monitor and interpret telemetry; manage blood product administration Administer IV therapy and manage feeding tubes Utilize Rapid Response Teams as needed Implement infection prevention and patient fall prevention measures Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of overall nursing experience required Must possess MS oncology experience and at least one inpatient hematology oncology experience Certifications Required: BLS ACLS ONS Chemo Certification Preferred Certification: NIHSS Skills Required Experience with MS/Tele and telemetry monitoring Competence in interpreting dysrhythmias Knowledge of IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management Skilled in central line blood draw and PICC line management Proficient in computerized charting using EPIC Staffing Ratios The ideal staffing ratio is 1:4, but may occasionally be adjusted to 1:5 based on workload and patient care needs.
