Details Night shift position (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM) on a 40-bed Cardiac Stepdown unit Patient ratio of 1:4, with stretch staffing at 1:5 Cares for patients with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post cardiac cath/stent/pacer/ICD/ablation procedures Unit team includes a charge nurse, bedside RNs, PCTs, and a unit secretary Uses Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, and bladder scanners Documents in Cerner EMR Performs bedside cardioversion procedures Required to work every other weekend Floats to MedSurg, Stepdown, COVID, and ER holding units as needed Requirements Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand Current BLS and ACLS certification Minimum 2 years of RN experience Stepdown or progressive care experience required Telemetry experience required Experience with titratable cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, and bumex/Lasix Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) preferred Relief charge experience preferred Additional Information Provide bedside cardiac care in a fast-paced stepdown environment Must be a flexible, positive, and compassionate team player Dress code requires all white, all navy blue, or a white top with navy blue pants Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted Unit policies and guidelines will be reviewed during orientation American Traveler Job ID P-737639.
