Details Labor and Delivery unit in a hospital with 200-300 births per month Rotates through triage, antepartum, labor, circulating, and transition duties (no post-partum) Must be able to circulate and transition babies as well as labor patients Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:00 PM) 16-week assignment with a minimum of 13 weeks considered Cerner charting experience preferred Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required; pending license accepted with submission but must be active before start Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required Previous Charge RN experience required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, NRP Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and infusion pump use Experience with high-risk antepartum, vaginal and C-section deliveries, and fetal monitoring (external and internal)

Experience with magnesium sulfate therapy, pitocin, and other L&D medication administration RTO must be submitted with application Additional Information Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, and newborn care in the delivery room Performs fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and IUPC placement/calibration Provides antepartum care including NST, sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage Some holiday coverage expected Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius; local candidates not accepted Onsite drug screening required upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with no exceptions for failure First-time travel nurses considered as long as they meet experience requirements American Traveler Job ID P-778192.
