Details Observation Unit within a Med/Surg Tele setting at a Short Term Acute Care Level I Trauma Center Float between sister units within scope as needed to meet facility needs Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:00 PM) Patient ratios average 1:4-5 Weekend rotation required every other weekend No on-call requirements Guaranteed hours included Epic charting system used 10-week assignment specifically for winter coverage Requirements Active RN license, CT or compact, required prior to start date (pending license accepted if active before start) Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Current BLS certification required; NIHSS certification required Telemetry monitoring experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including use of Rapid Response/Code teams Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration Wound care and isolation precautions/PPE experience Charting system experience required 1 professional reference required Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted; COVID booster requires religious or medical exemption only Additional Information Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg Tele and Observation Unit setting Participate in floating to sister units as needed No holiday RTO permitted during this assignment Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed during the contract Local radius restrictions waived specifically for this 10-week winter coverage assignment Scrub color required: royal blue Previous charge nurse experience preferred First-time travelers are welcome to apply Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities American Traveler Job ID P-781333.
