Details Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM Patient ratio of 1:5 Uses Epic charting system Cares for patients across all age and developmental stages Requirements Active CA RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required Epic EMR experience required Community hospital experience preferred Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry Experience with wound care and isolation precautions/PPE Experience managing feeding tubes, heparin protocols, and PCA Additional Information Provides direct nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation Manages assigned patient care and directs activities of ancillary staff Demonstrates leadership through performance of charge nurse functions when needed Accepts local candidates at the local rate Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate Returning staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation before reapplying Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday allowed off per contract Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing First-time travelers are not considered for this position American Traveler Job ID P-781143.
