Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/30/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Floor. This position provides care for adult medical-surgical patients with diagnoses including congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cellulitis, pneumonia, urinary-source sepsis, acute kidney injury, cholecystitis, and appendicitis. The role involves rotating 12-hour day and night shifts and caring for patient assignments that may increase to a 1:7 ratio.

Job Details Schedule: Rotating 12-hour day and night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week; weekends and holidays are scheduled as needed.

Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, and a minimum of two years of experience.

Additional Information: Provides care in an acute medical-surgical setting with patient assignments typically ranging from 1:6 to 1:7. Collaborates with patient care technicians and a charge registered nurse assigned to the unit. Manages heparin infusions based on activated partial thromboplastin time results. Supports patients requiring intermittent bilevel positive airway pressure; mechanical ventilation is not provided. Monitors patients through remote cardiac monitoring technology. No standby or call requirement. Assignment dates are 11/30/2026 through 03/01/2027.
