Details Acute care hospital setting on a Medical Surgical unit Patient ratio of 1:6 Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45a-7:15p) Every other weekend required No on-call requirements Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities Charting is done in Epic Requirements Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start BLS certification required (AHA only) ACLS certification preferred Minimum 1 year of recent experience required Community hospital experience required Experience with wound vacs, chest tubes, and surgical dressings required Previous charge experience preferred Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care Experience with neurological/psychiatric and CVA patients, and renal failure patients preferred Additional Information Level III Trauma acute care hospital with 286 staffed beds Scrub color required is royal blue No cost parking available First-time travelers may be considered Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler Block scheduling may be requested prior to assignment but is not guaranteed Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2-week period Attendance policy in place; missing more than two shifts in a 13-week contract without medical documentation may result in contract review Candidates must reside within a 60-mile radius to be considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate Staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November, peak August-September) American Traveler Job ID P-780975.
